Farsnworth was money for them lately. The catcher Molina had done well also.

If the Molina goes down, the yankees have nobody else except for moeller. Im not ripping on Moeller, but he is a downgrade both on offense and defense. Pudge was a great move- even if he DHs a lot. Now the Yankees have a lot guys to use as DH- Giambi, Sexson, Nady, Pudge. You still have bench player Betemit who can hit pretty well and play all IF positions. I say another good move by Brian Cashman, keeping the Yanks in the race.

I heard Pudge was a bit disgruntled the past month or so. Probable because of Inge filling in for him from time to time.

His production hasn't been that great this year, and his contract was up after this year anyways, so more than likely he was gone regardless.

At least they got something for him now.

Pudge's production had gone done the last couple of years. I think it began right around when testing started and he lost about 30 pounds. Big Grin

Pudge fills Yanks hole by getting a legitimate front line catcher while Posada's out with season-ending surgery. Although Farnsworth can throw hard, he was expendable.

However, I don't see Pudge signing with Yanks since Posada's back next year (4-year contract)and molina's a capable backup.
