After my son graduated from Volunteer State CC in Tennessee and committed to play for Henderson State University [DII] in Arkansas, I realized there is no Arkansas Forum -- and the Southeast Region includes AL, MS & LA, but not Arkansas. The Gulf South Conference includes schools in AL, MS, FL, GA, TN and AR.

Look at his post again. I think what he's trying to say is that the conference his son's school is in covers that area. HSBBW however does not include Arkansas anywhere while most of the other states do have either their own little section or the region that the state is in has a section. Arkansas appears to not be represented.

BNA,

Thank you for pointing that out, and sorry for the oversight!

We certainly can add Arkansas to one of the forums. Would the Southeast forum (Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana) be the logical fit, or somewhere else?

Only my opinion, but I think Arkansas fits into the Southeast forum most appropriately.

sunshinesmom - hope your son likes the camp! I can tell you that the baseball team, college, church and Jonesboro have been a great fit for my son. As a parent, I am very comfortable with him there. If you have any questions from a parent perspective, send me a pm.

Simple question ... and not kidding ...

Is the state name pronunced are-can-saw OR are-CAN-sas (with the last s pronouncedand the middle syllable accented)? I only ask because I knew an older lady when I was a kid (around 12 years old) who always pronounced it are-CAN-sas and I thought she told me that she was from Arkansas ... I remember always having to 'translate' in my own mind that she was speaking about are-can-saw LOL

FBM-I was in Wichita last month and the Arkansas River flows through the city right next to the minor league ballpark- the residents pronounced it the Ark-Kansas River. Once the river flows into Oklahoma and Arkansas the pronounciation is the same as the state. noidea

I coach at a school 10 miles from the AR line. We play quite a bit of AR teams.
