Nice concept but for the lateral work you could simply attach some bands to a chain link fence and to your body. For the vertical work you could screw some eyebolts into a piece of sturdy plywood. It might cost a bit less. I could definitely see how to do it with the J-bands or therabands for about 5 to 10% of the cost.
Now if they've got one at a facility that you are already a member of it looks like a pretty good tool. I think I'll recommend it to the guy at our local fitness place.

If you search the net well there are other brands that sell for much less. I would tend to wonder if there's potential for damaging the back due to the landing impact with the cords pulling down.

This is another version of resistance band training, and by the looks a very good one. The resistance work well to "trigger" the fast twitch fibers, thus making more explosive. This stuff works, but in reference to one my previous posts, do not forget to get to old school lifting in with the large muscle groups, gotta build that strong core and base!
