Bum - Good story. There are lots of these types of stories. The kid on my son's 13/14U travel team that EVERYONE would have sworn would be the superstar of the future...didn't grow anymore and played 1 year of JC ball and was finished. Its a good reason I believe that when it comes to athletics, you live in the moment and not get too far ahead of yourself. Soak it all in every moment you can. And if you love the game, keep pluggin' away...work hard at the next hurdle in front of you...like gaining PT or making your HS team. And you just never know what will happen.

quote: before giving up too soon
Bum, at age 13 I don't think any parents will give up on their kids. That's way too young to give up. I know a kid who can't throw a thing at age 9, some kids don't want play for the team siting because that "Bum" player in the team. He played for a Rec team at age 13, throw harder but with no control. But by the age 14, he became a 6'2" 180 Lb pitcher, throwing 85 plus and good control. What a amazing turnaround!
