A express!!! Why all the ?s about 3rd base? Being from Naperville YOU of all people should know about MATT Mennen from Naperville Cent. Matt Mennen is the best Hitting and Feilding 3rd basemen arond.Probably the best utility player also, witch is important to any GOOD TEAM.

Since we are talking about TOP PLAYERS heres a vote for 6'2 225 lbs LHP MATT JERNSTAD. From dominating the 8, 9, 10 year old div. in aurora, bouncing one off the top rail of the fence at the 11,12 year old's feild as an 8 year old in the Chamionship game. TO as a Freshmen Pitching nearly 3 NO HITTERS in a row. This kid had 2 nohitters and had the 3'rd untill the 7'th with 2 out and 2 K's on the batter. He gave up the dribbler then went on to K the last batter. Not long after that MATT JERNSTAD Pitched The best Game EVER. Not only did he pitch another NO HITTER, Matt recorded all 15 put outs in the 5 inning shortend game. Was a triple away from the cycle had a grandslam and 6rbi.One batter made it to 1'st on an over throw. Matt picked him off on the next play. JERNSTAD then went on to pitch for the best travel team in the WESTERN BURBS. THE ILL. EXPRESS. MATT with the EXPRESS went on to pitch 2 shutouts in the 15 and U State Tournament to advance to the championship game Against the Lombard Lightning. JERNSTAD pitched a 2 or 3 hitter in the victory over the Lightning. For the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. Not DONE YET.... Jernstad gets the chance now to pitch in the 15 and U World Seiries. His 1'st game was a 2 or 3 hit Shutout his 2'nd game came against JAPAN for a 4 to 2 Victory. I think now is a good time to tell everyone about the time Matt and the ILLinois EXPRESS shutout Top Tier. Yep, MATT pitched a real GEM in that game with 16 K's to have seen him throwing you would have thought MATT was throwing in the upper 80's. WE did'nt have a gun on him but if you ask the boys from TOP TIER they would agree. For MATT JERNSTAD the list goes on, His Jr. season ended with an 8 and 3 recored 94 K's and 17 BB's. HIS 1'st game of the year Matt Pitched a nohitter against Naperville CENTRAL. WOW!!! THat just about covers it, but to say MATT JERNSTAD is ONE of the TOP PLAYERS FROM THE WESTERN SUBURBS, is just ALOT OF TALK...

Something tells me you're either Matt Jernstad or you're a part of his family. I can't put my finger on it though...

"Baseball players are made in the off-season."

jerny1111, Sounds as though Matt has had quite a career. Where does Matt go to High School? Where will Matt be going to college at? Do you expect he will be drafted and turn pro?

Baseball Players are "MADE" in the off season. Good point, come to think about it if he was "BORN" in June he was "made" IN the "OFF SEASON".

jerny...Surely that 87mph fastball against Top Tier was 95 mph? 16 STRIKEOUTS??? You also shut down those "light tower" hitters???? ...And YOU STOPPED THE RUNNING of the 6.2/60 sprinters?

You are "kidding" us.

You only top out at 87?

---

Are you in the same conference with Mandele of Batavia and Perinar of Minooka?

---

Playhard...Where have you disappeared to? Houston?

matt is a really good pitcher. The two games i have played against him(one for top tier, and one for batavia) he was outstanding. Big lefty , lot of late movement
