Has anyone attended this event in the past? I believe date is 1/25/04. I may be wrong but I didn't see any info in brochure regarding college's/scouts attending.
Even if no scouts attend is this a worthwhile event to get on Perfect Game's radar? My son is a pitcher, just starting to throw again. Not sure if he'll be ready in 3 weeks or if we want him to extend fully so early? Any thoughts, thanks!

Haven't heard anything about it locally, but you should go to anything that you can afford to go to that Perfect Game presents.

Did I read correctly that this event is only Pitcher/Catcher?

Got my invite on Monday. I have been invited to many PG events but this is the first one that I will be going to. I'm looking forward to it. I'm a 05 catcher I don't know if this event is pitchers and catchers only but the workout format states 1. stretch, warm up, 2. C's pop times, 3. pitchers, 4. batting practice/Simulated game. Thats it

bret,hi guy!yes you should go because reps from perfect game will be there and they are important.plus the pro scouts in attendance,they always help kids for which most of the time they take no credit and never ask for a pat on the back.scouts have helped kids that have never heard of that scouts name or who he is.they are the unsung heroes of the game of baseball.they love the game and the kids that play it!!!they really are the silent heroes!

My son Scott was invited to this as well as the underclass showcase in Ft. Meyer. He is an 06 catcher. We passed on the Showcase in Florida but are sure we will be attending this one. I do beleive it is for pitchers and catchers.

On another note. Can anyone tell me if there truly is a dead recruting period for D1 schools at the beginning of January? That was just one of the reasons we passed on the one in Florida.

The D-1 programs cannot be back on the recruiting trail,until the 1st of March 2004

Hi Betty. The event starts at 4 p.m (sign in)and the brochure mentions batting practice/simulated games so it appears the kids can do everything but field/run. May be a bit early for pitchers to air it out, what do you think?

Any Perfect Game event is worth it....I would just get him started warming up...even on a bad day Brandon is GREAT!!! lol Maybe we'll see you there. Good luck.

dennis and 2nd...TR is right. There are no D1 coaches permitted to be there (in attendance) by NCAA rule.

To answer your question, no, Andy is not going to the Mokena ID event. We are having a small family 'get together' for our youngest daughter who just finished receiving her "associates" degree.

I understand that PG is having a Pitchers/Catchers Indoor Showcase coming-up in Cedar Rapids sometime in March. Andy wants to go to that event, if invited. He also received an invite to the Midwest Prospects Showcases in Texas. Those are the end of July, early August, and he will be doing one of those. He will then start doing, hopefully a bigger PG event. Was invited to the PG Underclass Showcase in Florida, but couldn't go because of long-standing holiday plans. Also wants to do one or two college camps between now, and the end of 2004.

The summer high school baseball schedule, taking an extra class in summer school, and travel baseball, will dictate if, and when we go to an event in June or July. I doubt it though.
