Yes. Have you turned in the questionnaire from the website? http://studentsportsbaseball.rivals.com/drawform.asp?form=802&SID=1130I dont have information about the camps, but I can refer you to studentsports.com which now handles the Area Code website. You'll be sent to it if you click the link above. We are from Kansas and my son participated in the tryouts last year. Would be glad to answer any questions you might have.

xsmSctDirector, What's in Chicago? Are you referring to the free camps? Last summer (07') the actual invite tryout for the Chicago White Sox AC team was in Missouri at William Woods University and then the following cut/tryout was in Jenks, Oklahoma.

Check out: http://www.areacodebaseball.com/Some excerpts from their site: The Area Code Baseball Camps:* Anyone of high school age (freshman-senior) can sign up and attend an Area Code Camp. * The Area Code Baseball Camp will teach training skills, so that a player can go into the spring season with a proper background for his position. * One of the ancillary benefits of participating in these camps for the eligible players is additional exposure to the scouts who actually coach the prospects at the Area Code Games in August. The Area Code Baseball Tryouts: * A player must be invited to a tryout. * An invitation to a tryout is based on recommendations from scouts in the Area Code network. * A player must fill out an Area Code Player Profile form found on the StudentSportsBaseball.com site. * Once a player fills out a form, he will not be notified unless he is invited to a tryout, which will happen close to the date of a tryout. Area Code Baseball Games: A spot on any of the teams is based on the performance of the athlete at an Area Code Tryout. The scouts conducting the tryouts will assess the player and be the sole decision makers for the roster. The team selection is made after each of the final tryouts. Remember that the Area Code Camps are open to anyone, but the tryouts are by invitation only. For more information and updates, please go to StudentSportsBaseball.com.

Shortstopmom:
Hello.
From 1987 to 2004, the year I sold the Area Code games to Student Sports, I would receive phone calls from parents, college coaches, pro scouts and player agents.
The one phone call that I will never forget came from Joe Cintron an agent in Kansas City. He said that I should place a specific player in the 1998 AC games. I requested his name. Joe said Albert Pujols.
No pro scout knew of Albert. My instincts told me to place Albert on a team.
This was one of our greatest year's. Ryan Garko, Carlos Quentin, Chris Duncan, Jason Kubal, Hank Blalock, Jason Repko, Rob Bowen all proven ML hitters and Josh Beckett, Randy Messinger, Jamie Shields, Chris Corderio, Anthony Reyes all proven ML pitchers.
Recently while in Spring Training, my son Robert [SSK promotion rep] talked with Albert and Albert said to Robert that Robert's father discovered him!
Everything changes and it is very difficult to obtain a tryout. Please have a pro scout call the White Sox scouts.
