For you graduating seniors, here's some excellant programs...Not by division or anything
just in case you get recruited...ND (of course)
Purdue, IU, Ball State (go Cardinals!), Butler, UINDY, Valpo, SIU, Anderson, and Bethel College. If you get a free ride to ND..take it!!

Coach...Curious on your opinion of the various programs.

Not much nationally for any of them except ND in the past few years and Bethel (as a smallish school).

Your opinion of Purdue and their "competitiveness " in the Big 10/11?

Butler? Ball State?

I am not Coach, but I know a little about Indiana baseball, so Ill give my two cents. First of all, Indiana St. is definitly still a great program, and probably should be on that list, although they get overshadowed a little bit, because of teams like SW Missouri St. and Wichita St. in the MVC. Butler, as well as Purdue both had great recruiting classes from last year, that will help their progress tremedously. Although, Purdue, as well as IU still aren't in the same category as Minnesota, Michigan, and Ohio St in the Big 10/11. It is funny, I don't hear much about Ball St. I know their coach is new, so we will see how that goes. They've had some big time players in the past in Bullington and another pitcher, who's name I cant recall at the moment.

Indiana State is in the top of its class for college baseball in Indiana along with the Irish. As a future Sycamore my opinion is bias, but it is hard to find a coach that has 1,000 carrer wins like ISU's Coach Warn. They play a tough non-conference schedule including Wake Forest, Okla. St., and Southern Miss. Sycamore baseball is a strong program.

I have to say, other than ND there really isn't a nationally ranked Div.I Indiana school... so far. ND is rated preseason #10. I think Purdue,IU,ISU,have great baseball programs. They all recruit in state and nationally, but haven't cracked the 'big' time yet. My comment isn't a slam on any of them. I'd love to see them all in OMAHA. If any high school ballplayer is good enough to be recruited by them... my point is, great places to play baseball in Indiana. P.S. Ball State is favored to win the MAC (west)

Hey gamer7
Nice post... and a good 2 cents! How's conditioning going? I heard that you and Andy B. may be 2004 Hoosier Diamond Preseason All State. Hope so...Great news & Congrats. Bethel really got some great talent for 2005! HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL WEB gave us our own INDIANA FORUM to post to. Can't wait for the preseason polls and to hear what people have to say.

Hey syncmaster, conditioning is going great. Ive gotten a lot faster and quicker, as well as stronger (didnt know that was possible) but through very hard training and time in the cages, I think I'm definitly in the best shape to start a season of my life. We have most everyone back from last year's team, and we also have our eyes on that ring, not sure if we will be ranked preseason or not. Last year I was named to the 2nd team All State (HD) so this year I'm definitly hopin for 1st team. I heard there was a little article about me in the SB tribune back in Nov. or so, wonderin if you knew anything about it or not. Have a great day.

Hey gamer7, the article in the SB Tribune was the announcement that you signed a LOI with Bethel. I did see Andy B. and his father over the weekend. Told them to join in on this BOARD. Good people, Andy B.'s dad knows a lot about baseball and is really a good coach. There are a lot of people on the south side of SB that wishes he get back into coaching. I hope you get a chance to talk with him through this BOARD. He would be happy to help you with just about anything, and of course so would Andy B.
