My son has been talking with the recruiting coordinator at Mizzou. What insight can you provide on their baseball program, the coaching staff, their ability to develop pitchers, their record for having pitchers drafted and any other information you can provide will be greatly appreciated?

I would think they could provide you with that info but they had a 1st rounder in Scherzer, they have another one this year in Crow, #1 guy in Cape Cod League. I think a lefty went in the 2nd or 3rd in Scherzers year and they have some more on campus. Also, believe they hosted a regional after being 2nd in big 12 last year, so they are pretty good
I d say. I think they must work pretty hard to compete in that conference.

Culp was a pitcher and drafted last year or maybe the year before and moving up in the minor league ranks quickly. Know one of the assistant pitching coaches - coached sons summer team before going to Mizzou - good guy - I think most of the guys really liked him - never heard otherwise. Know a freshman pitcher there now - just talked to his dad and dad says he loves it! Good luck to your son!

Coach Jamieson has a long-standing positive baseball background here in Columbia. He is very well respected throughout the NCAA and especially in the Big 12 conference. He has certainly surrounded himself with a great group of assistant coaches as well.

Our son has been to two MU summer camps and most recently went to the MU showcase for high school players a month or so ago. Each and every interaction we've had with the MU baseball program has been a positive one, no doubt. Plenty of knowledge and ability within the coaching staff to ensure any player with the proper amount of talent and work ethic can advance beyond college baseball.

I worked with Coach Brian Delunas, assistant and pitching coach at mizzou. He also teaches catching, but pitching is his specialty. Great guy, but more so an outstanding pitching coach. A bunch of my buddies from my high school team went to him for pitching and have improved like 5 mph from time to time. The guy really knows his stuff. I can't say much about the other coaches but this guy really stands out to me.

Mizzou senior Jacob Priday set a Big 12 Conference record with four home runs and No. 8 Missouri put up 31 runs to defeat No. 12 Texas, 31-12, on Friday night at Taylor Stadium.

Priday was 5-for-5 on the night. He set the single-game school record with four home runs, nine RBI and six runs scored. The four home runs is the most ever in the Big 12 Conference and is tied for third most in NCAA history.

Junior Aaron Crow, who entered the game having allowed just four runs all season, gave up five in the first inning. That snapped his streak of 42.2 scoreless innings pitched, dating back to his second start of the season. He allowed nine runs on nine hits in five innings of work, but picked up the win to improve to 8-0 on the year.

You should mention that the 31-12 Mizzou/Texas game was played in cold winds that approached 40 mph. Texas staff gave up 27 ERs.
