Many teams in Iowa play USSSA. You might check the USSSA site for Iowa, 2008, and the appropriate competition level.... major, AAA etc.

This will give you a list of the teams that competed last year and their tourney records. I think that it also may list the manager's name.... Not sure if there are phone numbers....

But, at least you would have a place to start looking.

Also, in Iowa, 8th graders are allowed to tryout for High School baseball, because High school ball is played in the summer. So that could be an option as well, depending on each District's policy.
