He went back to the Catalyst, which he had been hitting with before the Prodigy, now he's trying to break in and get used to a Demarini Vexxum. He really wants the L Slugger Triton, but at $300, he heard an emphatic "NO".

Having run the full gamut of various bat compositions, sizes, brands, colors, etc. (and dollars associated) between both my boys, I keep coming back to the same bat> I too had a Worth Prodigy ('08 model), and while it indeed had lots of "pop", it lasted about a week before turning a square shape. It was replaced with an '09 model, and I didn't even bother trying it out, since others on our team had it and while not denting as fast, still did so, so I eBay'ed it.
We keep going back to the same TPX Omaha XS Scandium aluminum bats. They have plenty of pop, last forever, never dent, and are reasonably priced. You have to look around for an older model if you want 2 3/4" barrell, as the newer versions are 2 5/8".
Don't bother with composites; they have no pop, and too expensive.
Happy hitting!
