They still dent, not as bad as 08, but with the price paid for it, you want it to last a little longer than it does. The initial "pop" from it dissappears quickly, also. Don't get it.

always_late, Thanks for the warning.A player on my team just got a new one and had a few of the teammates take BP with it.They were hitting bombs with it.Definitely alot of pop from that bat but if it's going to dent and go dead on me,I'll stick with the Vexxum that we're using.Thanks.

We got this bat as a replacement for last years model which lasted about a week. My son(12u) doesn't use it in practice and no one else on the team can use it. So far my son has 7 homers in 10 games. Worth the price and I will buy another when he kills this one.

I'm fighting the urge to buy one but I want it to last a lot longer than what I've heard. At allmost $200,I can't be buying one every other month. The warranty is only good for a one time replacement right?I'll be keeping a close eye on how my son's team mate's bat last.
always_late,what bat did you end up going with?

The new prodigy will last longer and it doesn't have as much pop as the old one but is still a great bat. Prodigy sends a bat stamped "replacement" when they replace it. On another board someone said they will replace a replacement bat only within 30 days. I can't confirm that. Another bat to consider is the "Stealth". It does need to be broken in before you see a significant pop to it. It also seems to have a smaller sweet spot compared to the Prodigy. AXO, Techzilla, Voodoo, Catalyst etc are all great bats. If you spending that kind of money on the bat there really isn't much difference in the hands of a mechanically sound hitter.

He went back to the Catalyst, which he had been hitting with before the Prodigy, now he's trying to break in and get used to a Demarini Vexxum. He really wants the L Slugger Triton, but at $300, he heard an emphatic "NO".

Having run the full gamut of various bat compositions, sizes, brands, colors, etc. (and dollars associated) between both my boys, I keep coming back to the same bat> I too had a Worth Prodigy ('08 model), and while it indeed had lots of "pop", it lasted about a week before turning a square shape. It was replaced with an '09 model, and I didn't even bother trying it out, since others on our team had it and while not denting as fast, still did so, so I eBay'ed it.

We keep going back to the same TPX Omaha XS Scandium aluminum bats. They have plenty of pop, last forever, never dent, and are reasonably priced. You have to look around for an older model if you want 2 3/4" barrell, as the newer versions are 2 5/8".

Don't bother with composites; they have no pop, and too expensive.

Happy hitting!
