quote: I have received severe brain damage over the past 15 years. I think it's called Parentitus! To all of the parents out there, old, young, new, & all of us in between ( ha!), continue to do what you think is right. Keep an open mind, be willing to learn, & be willing to ignore peacefully. Believe deeply and achieve, while remembering that a little tolerance for one another can go a long ways. Lets stay productive. The last time I checked, there was still a whole lotta' of baseball going on. ...and I get the feeling that with, or without us, these kids are going to continue to play. I for one, want to tag along for the ride. And, I'd enjoy it even more if you'de pull up a lounge chair next to me, so we as parents can watch our kids together.

(IMO) Posting pictures is not bragging or even promoting. I think most people are more turned off by self promotion. I don't know much about many things, but I'm an expert when it comes to recognizing self promotion. You're all amateurs if comparing to what we see nearly every day. Would gladly trade places if you don’t believe. Wish I could display to you all, some of the things we hear and see. There are people who would make you walk (or even run if need be) a mile out of your way, just to avoid another discussion about their son. I’m sure everyone has experienced this to some degree. Just not the degree that we experience it. That said, luckily, most people are not like that. If you find yourself sitting alone a lot and it’s not because you want to be… You might want to have a little talk with yourself. You might be guilty of making those around you SICK! Start bragging about your son’s team mates all the time and you will regain your popularity. Tip… Do not listen to me, I have received severe brain damage over the past 15 years. I think it's called Parentitus! I'd have gone off the deep end if it weren't for the kids themselves. They're usually great!
First of all, I have always wanted to post pictures of my son, he was about 12 when I started posting. For some reason, I never did. I still want to. I do remember bragging about son in the beginning. One of the other moms started to communicate with me about our "very good ballplayers". Then I realized mine was 12 and hers was in the D Backs minor league system. That was my wakeup call. At any rate, PG, I think you should keep notes and when you tire of what you are involved with now, you should write a book about all the crazy parents you have encountered. Some of the ones in our area are downright terrifying!

To all my friends and fellow posters ... tho mine has played ball like a t-baller since he was drafted, I don't believe this communication was from me. If it had been me, I hope I didn't offend you, sluggo

Brrrppp --- but thanks for playing, sluggo; we have some lovely parting gifts. You did get one right, the young man who played for three years: top row, 4th from left. Although at the time, we all would have predicted the 3rd from left as well. Middle row, far left & 4th from left Front row: 1st & 2nd from left. Take a look at your own team photos --- baby faces, little arms...who knows what all lies ahead; and there's a whole baseball world waiting for them!
