Have any of you with younger kids tried measuring them in the morning and then again in the evening? My 12yo son is about 5'2 3/4" in the morning and 5'2" in the evening. Seems like a big difference.

This is not unusual even for adults. When you sleep, you relax and stretch out the muscles in your back. As the day goes on these muscles get compacted.

I discovered this years ago when I purchased my first sports car. I am a tall man with short legs Smile All trips to the dealer had been after work. I just fit in the 944 I was buying, not an inch to spare in head room, but I wanted this car.

Bought it and brought it home. The next morning when I got in it, my head was hitting the head liner. I knew I had the seat at it's lowest point, but I tried to adjust it anyway... no dice.

I had to drive it with my head bent over to the right in the AM and head staight up in the PM.

I grew about an inch each night and compacted down during the day.... noidea

As an adult I think I'm fairly permanently compressed. I'm 6'0" in the morning and 1/4" shorter in the evening.
