Someone mentioned these bats to me the other day and quite frankly, I had not heard of them.
Any comments? Looking specifically at the Miken Freak Senior bat....thanks in advance!

I've been told more than once that this brand is so far on the cutting edge of technology that their bats might not pass the rules. I've heard that both with softball and baseball bats. Just what I've heard.

Here is a new player in the bat world..
www.kelleyusa.com

The New NFUEGO is a solid product. My son was hitting with one last night and it has some solid pop to it. 33/30.

My son is using the 30" 22 oz Rawlings Liquid Metal Plasma big barrel this year. We saw the ACC tourney here in Jacksonville, Fl and 4 or 5 teams were using it, so we said they can't all be wrong and is has proven itself. My son is ten and plays travel ball and he is by no means big but has solid mechanics and has hit 2 out in practice. 190 ft. It's the new one silver and green.

I have heard from more than one person that the Miken bats are bad to dent. I don't know if it is true because my son has never had one.

Another newcomer to the senior bat world is Anderson Bat Company. My son used their -8 "Big Barrel" last year and absolutely loved it. He also used an OMaha and Liquid Metal, but preferred the Anderson.

Before you dismiss Anderson, check out their Risk Free Demo Program.

My friends son just bought the Miken bat. Everyone of the kids were just amazed the way the ball jumped off the bat. However, it dented after just two weeks. My son has tried the Anderson -8 bat and he says it just doesn't have the pop that the Demarini Vodoo has. That is his opinion. I think it does, but you have to hit it perfect on the sweet spot. Demarini seems to have a bigger sweet spot than the Anderson.

Another kid that my son played with had a Voodoo and thought the same thing when comparing it to the Anderson. My son tried the Voodoo and said he couldn't tell much of a difference either way.

I didn't think there was anything to the comment, but if another player "felt" the same thing there is obviously something there.

gogolf - - you are proof that the marketing strategy of "paying" college teams
to use their brand of equipment does work Smile

but you overlooked the bat that won the tourney

Confused

Louiville Slugger TPX Warrior treated us very well last year. This year we're stepping up to the TPX Dynasty.

Bee,

I am only saying that we are currently enjoying the Plasma and it has great pop. You pay close attention to details, which bat won the tourney? I should know because I am a HUGE UVA Fan.

Keith

My son's birthday a couple of weeks ago, and I decided to get him a couple of wooden bats, among other things. All he's been talking about this semester is how all of the Varsity players have been taking Batting Practice with Maple bats, and he of course wanted to do the same. So, I searched the internet for a few hours and found a great deal. www.blastbat.com had numerous models being sold for under $50. He got his bat within a week and has loved it. I just wanted to give Blast Bat some Props, as the kids say, and share their site with everyone. I really think that these bats will help my son's performance once the season roles around.

My son hasn't tried a Miken. He's always done quite well with the Louisville line. Last year I bought him the new Stealth and it didn't seem to have much pop. After watching him hit it for awhile, I said let me try. I couldn't hit the ball more than about 220 with it. Shipped it back and they sent a new one. Found a Warrior on clearance at a local store and got that for $109. Ball jumping off his bat again. Also just bought a 31/26 '06 Vexxum off ebay for $169. He has to use a -5 in league since they're playing up to 13U this year. Bat will arrive mid-week so we'll have to go try it out.

The Stealth had me questioning two piece bats but I figure we'll try the Vexxum and see.

Bought the Liquid Metal right when it came out and on the 5th hit with it, the end cap came off. Got the warranty replacement and flipped it for a Warrior. Now we're back to the Warrior following the Stealth.

If anybody needs a 30" (-9) Senior League Stealth, $140 TYD. Paid $235 with tax. Only used for a few tournaments.

I think I'll have my son hit with a Green Easton or one of my old Black Magics that are tucked away in my garage, that way I'll know if he can really hit or a product of the multi million dollar aluminum bat companies. Big Grin

Go Vikes, also, Blast Bat appear to be manufactured by a major wood bat comapny also in the Dallas Area.
