Well today is it. The day he's been waiting for "all his life." My 9yo is playing his first "real" baseball game. He has been following his 2 older brothers to games since he could walk and today is the day! He's asked for a protein filled breakfast and I woke to his older brothers telling him how to prepare and what pitches to look for and the general pep talk. It really was sweet. They are all excited and all going to be rooting for him (2 innings or not). This is really what it is about. A boy, a field, and a love for the game. forwardroll

After all the anticipation, the day came. Then, the day went. Somehow there was a scheduling snafu and the other team didn't show. Depression. Will have to wait for that first day Saturday. Darn!

Unbelievable. He's been gearing up for that game for weeks (months, years). Well, he's got two great older brothers to get him through.

Woo-hoo! The game arrived. He even got to play the whole game and bat 2nd!! Walked twice, HBP, and a hit (well sort of. Pop fly between p, 3rd, c that no one went for). I think he was so shocked he forgot to run until after it bounced. Very cute and very fun. He thinks he's hot stuff now. Great day with lots of fun memories.

I miss those days! Sounds exciting - tell your slugger that batting 1.000 is pretty good. Smile

A friend's son is playing T-ball this season and he is so excited! I'm planning on making a few games. Can't wait.
