Goin, It appears everyone is busy getting ready for the holidays. I for one am looking forward to the upcoming local college season. My oldest is gearing up for spring practice that starts in a couple weeks. Also looking forward to seeing what kind of team Coach Hall puts on the field this year. How are things looking around the state in the HS ranks? Any studs that will be emerging that aren't getting any press right now? Any surprises in store?
Voicovr Can't wait till baseball season rolls around. My early favorites for this year are as usual Lassiter, Parkview, Henry, and Roswell. Quigley out of Roswell will make a lot more noise this year now that Jimmy is drafted and gone. Henry has Rozier along with 2 other guys that can touch 90 and Lassiter and Parkview are always in the running. East Coweta from what I've heard didn't lose much so they should still be in the running also. Look for Eagles Landing to be a suprise this year. Well, that's it for me for the night. Happy Holidays to all out there. Good luck to your son!

Goin, Judging by your post you must be ATL local. Also, some good south side references. My boys played in the same region as Henry Co., E. Coweta and Eagles Landing. Newnan should be strong but my $$ is on HC this year. Rozier and Lindsay make a pretty strong 1-2 punch. I hear they have a 10th grader that got some varsity experience on the mound last year and is throwing mid-80's. Do you remember Kyle Davies that pitched about 3 years ago for Stockbridge? He got drafted by the Braves. Well he has a little brother that is a lefty and word has it he throws harder than Kyle did at his age.
The word I got about the kid from Henry throwing mid 80's is that he was sent to another school for some reason???? Henry also has a senior that I hear hit 90 on a gun before going down with an injury. GEEZ!!! Some world we live in where one high school can get 3 guys throwing that hard. I've heard about Davies little brother. Heard he's pretty big for his age also but is more of a first baseman that hits tons of homeruns. Sound right?

I work in the same building as his aunt and she says all the time how good he is doing. I believe he did the E Cobb thing this past summer. I'm looking forward to following himk thru HS.
Michael Rozier (SR) LHP Probable 1st round selection, particularly if he steers clear of an injury this season.
Jason Laird (SR) RHP Legitimate low 90's, can drop down and with a tall lanky frame, is very difficult to pick up. Battled elbow problems early last year and missed 90% of the season.
Greg Lindsey (JR) RHP Not the best mechanics but dominating fastball who could break off nasty sliders as well. Struggled with control at times last year. When he's on, he's incredibly tough to beat.
Henry lost Matt Clark (JR) LHP Transferred to Riverside Military Academy. World's of potential there as well and kept getting stronger each year. My guess is he is approaching 90 now if he's not there already. Great kid, competitive on the mound.
They must find a replacement for two very good catchers who both went on to the college level as well as last year's HR leader in 2nd Baseman Lane Hammond who is now at Columbus State.
Some new faces will have to step up but the talent is certainly there to do so.

Have to disagree about Rozier being a 1st rounder. Above average 2 sport player. Dominates HS but struggled this summer against good teams. Stock has dropped plus if he signs Feb. 4th, I think most teams will pass on him. The interesting thing to watch will be both Vidic and Nelson. I think someone may take a sandwich pick or higher chance on Nelson due to his versatility and Vidic could be 5-7 rounder if he shows even a glimpse of his former self.
