Just wondering who everyone thinks has a chance to win their division title this year. I would like to hear from everyone from 1A to 5AAAAA.

Regarding the 4AAAA I am pulling for Alexander. AHS should be pretty strong this year and has a great chance of going all the way.

Any thoughts?

I have heard the Starrs Mill program is a good one. This our first yr in HS and I was wanting to see who the strong programs across the State were.

Thanks for the reply.

What part of Georgia is Starrs Mill in? Does anyone have any knowledge about the HS baseball programs in Cobb/North Fulton?

we (walton) play starrs mill this season at starrs mill. only good thing about that is that i get to miss some of school!! anyways..last year we played them and beat them in the last innings. they had a stud pitcher named Blake Nations i believe. threw into the 90s. he is gone, and that is all i know about them. some teams to look for from cobb are lassiter and kell.

Starr's Mill is in Fayette County, on Hwy 74, Peachtree City.

Thanks, guys. My son has another year before high school and we are looking to move to a better baseball high school district. (Ours is currently non-existent so we have to move!) Open for suggestions. We've been leaning toward Walton but want to look at others before we make a final decision. Any advice is appreciated!

You may want to consider Alexander High here in Douglas County. We have a great program AAAA. We should go very deep if not all the way this season with the talent we have. To date we have 3 seniors committed to D1 schools and a 2002 MLB pitcher Matt Capps coming out of the program. Coach Hansen does a great job for the program.

Shep definitely knows where the beef in Ga is now Smile Starr's Mill is just one of dem. Live in FLA now but always good to know where the prospects are for cross-checking purposes.

Alexander should be good, but to win region, they must get by Northgate, who has won region several straight years. Northgate only lost their number 2 pitcher, a second baseman and a right fielder off of last years region winner.

I am looking forward to some exciting baseball this year.

As far as good baseball schools, Cobb County is known for their quality, but Coweta and Fayette County, on the south side, can compete with anyone. East Coweta has made the 5A finals 2 of the last three years. NG always wins region and Newnan is always strong.

In Fayette, Stars Mill is very strong, Fayette County is a tradition rich program, Sandy Creek has some highly ranked players and McIntosh is strong again. Whitewater is coming on strong as a new program. Watch the southside continue to improve. Good Coaches make a difference.

Thanks for the info. This is our 1st yr of HSB. I had a travel team for several years and I am just learning who all the powerhouses are in the HS mix of things. Yes I would like to see the Cougars go all the way in the AAAA but I know there are some very good teams/programs that must be overcome to get there....what more could one ask than to see a good game win or lose!

I have looked at most of the 5A teams for this upcoming season and the southside of Atlanta will be tough. Starrs Mill will be very strong this year with 2-3 top prospect players. East Coweta will be very strong this year with a very strong Junior and Senior class also with some top prospects. Newnan will not be as strong as years pass and niether will Fayette county and Whitewater. On the Northside look for Lassiter and Kell to be strong. See YA

Brent Brewer is one of the top prospects in the state. He is also a top notch football recruit. They have a good Junior pitcher also. Region 4AAAA should be a really good one this year.

33'SDAD,

Thanks for the info. On another note I have a new service I am putting together regarding players in GA. Do you have more info on the player you mentioned as well as info on any player that may be a Prospect?

I will make a new post requesting info as well.
Thanks,

Is there any website listing the ranking of high school baseball in Georgia? Do you just have to go to the individual high school athletics site?

Chillidog,

From what I can find there are more than 2 or 3 at Starrs Mill.

Two have already signed DI, One at DII and there are a few others that have solid follow written all over them.

Coaches probably waiting to see how they produce this year. Cool

In Class AAAAA the champion will almost assuredly come from Region 6. My bet is it will be Lasiter but there are many other great teams in this region who could walk away with it all (ie Roswell, Walton, Kell, Milton etc.).

bbforlife...me and you are thinking the same way. i myself go to walton, but i really think the winner of class AAAAA state championship will come from our region. Too much talent in my opinion.

From things I have read and heard, I think Lassiter has the best chance in AAAAA. They are getting comparisons by some to the 99 team so...But there are a lot of solid, good teams in the region so who really knows.
