Am i gettin called out here? lol well im a humble guy and i really dont like to say how im doing because im so superstitious...but i have been recently added to the "whos hot" list on pg's website. and i currently am the cobb county leader in On Base Percentage and am top 10 in every offensive category..all because of hard work in the offseason and being mentally and pyshically prepared. Walton is 7-5 (2-3 in region). We play really great some days then play like a JV team the other days. We havent quite gelled yet. It should be a fun rest of the season.

Tell me about the Roswell game ? What about Region 6 ? Is there a lot of talent in your region ? What about other catchers ? What about the pitching I here it is deep.

At the Northgate vs. Alexander game there were about 12 scouts there to watch Langley and the Alexander pitcher. Northgate stole the show. Chad Basma, the relief pitcher for NG, came in and pitched 8 innings of no hit relief. NG won in the 11th inning. NG hit two homers off of the starter they were there to watch. Langley was 0 fer. Langley is 1 for 7 in the last two NG games. I did time him in 1.8 on one throwdown and as high as 2.0 between innings. Not a lot of scouts there at the end, but the better team, with the better pitching and hitting won. Both teams had lots of errors. They are the two best teams in the region, probably.

NG got beat by Whitewater on last Satruday. It looked like the Vikings were already on spring break. They almost came back by scouring 4 runs int he 7th, but fell one run short.

I think that NG is the best team on the southside, but Starrs Mill might think differently. Too bad we didn't play this year.

Roswell threw Jake Cowan and Sam Allen. They pitched great. We lost 6-3. Roswell in my opinion has the best pitching in the region. They play great defense and they play small ball offensively. There is tons of talent in our region. Roswell, Kell, Lassiter, Pope, Milton, and Walton would get into the playoffs in every other region but since we are all stuck together its not possible. Some of the other big time catchers in our region are Mark Fleurry at Pope, Goodin at Lassiter, and the Roswell catcher played great defensively.

I understand that as of today, Whitewater, Northgate, and Sandy Creek are tied in their region.

Here is a bone for the board but I'm not giving you a name, you must find out the name of this sophomore pitcher who pitched a perfect game for Dodge County HS in Eastman, very recently, Ga...does not live in Chauncy either. First person to post name of prospect I'll PM you some bonus info Smile peace, Shep

The pitcher who pitched perfect game for Dodge Co HS is Joah Evans and he did it against Vidiala HS in the last week or so in front of several scouts.

HE, Joah Evans is from Eastman and not Chauncy. May want to ck year of prospect because I am getting conflicting second-hand information on year of this player, Joah Evans. Coaches name is Ray Hardin for Dodge Co HS if interested.

The pitcher you mentioned, Jared Reaves, has also had succcess this season and does pitch for Dodge Co HS. Very educated guess sir and good input here.

Ross and Matt Smith, (not related but one is son of long-time Cardinal scout you prolly know, Roger Smith), both have signed with Div I powerhouses and are also having great seasons there. peace, Shep

Shep,

I'm pretty sure Joah Evans is a senior. That's why I went with Reaves a sophmore.

Was up there a couple of weeks ago and didn't get roster. Should have but didn't realize there were "other" prospects there and was primarily focusing on Smith prospects and not Evans even though he had pretty good game hitting the day I saw Dodge Co. They are a double AA HS team but are loaded ! They have been pounding everybody including WR HS and a few others who are well-known in state. Do you think Joah Evans is going to get drafted ? peace, Shep

Shep,

Don't like to speculate on the Pro draft. I try to stay more focused on High School players that
are going overlooked at the college level.
There is a good amount of talent in Ga. from AAAAA to AA that are still waiting for that magic call.

Cool

Can't much blame you for not speculating about draft because believe me, It Is Unpredictable !
I can say this from my experience as a player as well as a former player and "so-called" associate scout.

I respect and admire your efforts to promote and help find the over-looked players a college opportunity and most importantly, a place to play and continue dreams. TR does a great deal of this up north and we need somebody down this way to do the same. Going to game now if not rained out and will do some thinking on ways I can also contribute and will get back to ya on that one. peace, Shep

Too much rain for me and the other half down this this way, this must be the remnants of bad weather a little north of here of late. No ballgame, not for us anyway. They might get it in but not without some mighty wet folks Frown

Will catch the next one.

Peace OS#1 and board,

Shep

L.O.L. Oldscout#1

Saw somebody on a scooter racing down alligator alley earlier this week with part of a hairy elephant believed to be really old.... In fact it had some wooly mammoth characteristics with long long toe nails and a really long body almost favoring a grizzly bear Smile...Funny thing about it was, some ole looking fella that almost looked like a hologram or something glowing, dark-skinned fella with bandana and feather with tomahawk, was chasing closely behind saying, Come back to my swamp ! Come back to my swamp ! I claimed you many moons ago and I now own you ! Heres the punchline though>Some scaly looking long lizard came rushing out of a ditch along HWY roadside and devoured the ole looking fella whose famous last words were GATOR ! GATOR !
