Apparently not.

My son took a few leesons from someone near us who was good, but he's now a high school coach and not available any more.

Out of curiosity where in the ATL area and what age?

OOPS... Never mind. I saw that your inquiry was answered in a different forum.

I answered this under the Catching section when you asked a week or so ago. Skip Shipp is one of the best. My son has been taking from him for awhile.

Howie McCann who is Brad McCann's father owns a baseball facility up in the Atlanta area and I know a couple of guys that give instruction their that are outstanding. Brian Bridges of the Marlins and Al Goetz of the Braves. Not to mention that Howies boy is the starting catcher for the Braves. This is the place to go in the Atlanta area for quality instruction.

Both Next Level Camps December 27-30 at East Cobb and Tallahassee Community have excellent catching guys. At East Cobb you have long time pro scout Danny Watkins who was also the recruiting coordinator at Alabama and at Tallahassee you have Charlie Greene who played in the major leagues, was a roving catching instructor for the Brewers, minor league manager for the Brewers, and is now the Brewers field coordinator. For more info on these camps please visit www.nextlevelbaseball.org and if you can't make the camps I would highly suggest using Howies place up there in Atlanta for your instruction. Feel free to contact me directly at 850-228-1594 for Brian or Al's phone number.

Thanks! Can you PM me with the name of Howie's place?

I did get a few additional names when I posted in the catcher's forum. Some were a bit too far from us to be practical. We live in Atlanta on the northeast side, son is 15 and has been catching for 2yrs on competitive teams. Has had some good instruction in camp settings but we're now looking for a regular, 1-on-1 instructor.
