I think from what I have seen the Southside has some strong talent. The players you speak of have dropped in ranking (Baseball America Prospect Plus) Joey now at 240, Andrew at 176, still not bad but not top 100. Only Brent brewer sits their at 79 and maybe a little overated. The story will be told on the field for all these boys.
Good luck, Love this game.

lassiter lost there first game this past week. im sure they will rebound from it. if they are gonna be compared to the 99 team then i think they can only lose one more game.

I see where LASSITER just lost their second game.....still early though. Alexander is off with a mighty big bang 13-2 and 21-1!

Starrs Mill 5-0. Big win over Lee County in 10 innings. Keep watching.

Other than the current commits at Starrs Mill there will be more.

Shep, you need to find time to see this team play. Cool

Lassiter is over-rated. Trust me on this. They have some good ball players but can't field a strong 9. Come on. Lassiter will not win state. I bet the farm on that. Bring this post back out in the open if it happens.

East Coweta looking good this year also 4-0. Lots of pitching and strong line up from top to bottom. Starrs Mill has Lewis, Andrew, Tanner and Brian Fletcher has started strong with a couple of home runs, but after that you could flip a coin. East Coweta plays Sandy Creek tonight and Northgate on Friday should be a good tester for them. I also agree lassiter and some of the Northside baseball have some great ball players but is a little overated. Watch out for the Southside. Love this game.

The Alexander Cougars are off to a great start. The season is young and there is a lot of ball to play but so far the Cougars have won all three games played 13-2, 21-1, 13-0 and after getting up early the coach plays all 19 players....the real test will come next week!

EC wins 3-2 over Sandy Creek. Brent Brewer looked pretty good fielding and went 1-3 but not that strong of an arm in my opinion. EC now 5-0 for the season. EC & Starrs Mill match up should be a good one. Love this game.

Northgate beat East Coweta 8-0. Chad Basma pitched a one hitter. The only hit was a lead off double in the 7th. In fact, that was the only ball that got out of the infield and it was a ground ball up the third base line.

I wish NG played Stars Mill this year.

NG has Alexander at home next Wednesday, that will be the game of the year in the region.

Are there any predictions on that game.

NG beat Alexander in 11 innings. Basma releived Smith in the 3rd or 4th and pitched the rest of the game with no hits. Alexander only hade 3 hits. Lots of errors on both sides, but NG got a lot of hits. Am reporting with second hand knowledge, but must have been one hell of a game between two of the best teams in the state.

I have to say that I saw Northgate lose to a 3a school 9-3, March 13. Northside Columbus is a young school with no playoff experience. Obviously Basma did not pitch, but I am thinking that Northgate will need to find more than him if they are going very far this year.
