Drove by the new high school they're building out in the McEachern area. They were working on the new baseball field. It will be opening in August 2006. Has anyone heard who they might be looking at for baseball coach? Friends of mine have the option of sending their son there. How do they rank a school that's just starting up?

The ranking A, AA, etc., is based on the student population or projected population. If they model the athletics like others that I have seen, they will not have varsity sports for a year or two. Are all four grades there the first year? Other new schools in Georgia have started with freshmen and sophmores the first year with only JV sports. Then maybe varsity non-region baseball the next year and region play when they have a full 4 classes.

Too help you with what it would be like lets look at kell when the school was first built. first year, they played jv schedule. second year, they played teams almost anywhere around atlanta. and third year they played varisty region teams i believe. i think you have to have seniors on your team to be varsity? im not exactly sure on that one, maybe someone can help me out.

They have signs posted all over the area's neighborhoods. Some of the parents seem to have the idea that the school start will all 4 years of students. A lot of the students will probably be pulled from Harrison and McEachern. I wonder what it will do for their teams. Of course, if you choose to stay at the school you are already attending you may have that option too. I guess if you're a starter on one of those teams then you would probably want to stay put.

Hillgrove's website says they will play a varsity schedule in every sport except football. They are in the AAAA classification.

I heard that they'll be getting players coming in from McEachern and Kennesaw Mountain. Any ideas of whose is going where and how it will affect those other 2 teams?

they will have all 4 years at the school,for students,the first year they will play a jv non conference schedule.not playoff eligible.sr's and possibly jr's from the merging schools will have the option of staying or going to the new school.This is how it was done in gwinnet county with our3 new high schools.

joyee2, Just because it was done that way in Gwinnet does not mean it will be done that way at Hillgrove. The schools website says they will play a varsity schedule in all sports except football. If that is the case I would assume they would play in their region (5AAAA) and would be elligible for the playoffs. If you have good information to the contrary let us know.
