The Milton Eagles defeated the East Coweta Indians to capture the 5A State Championship. Both games came down to the wire and could have gone either way, 14-12 and 10-6.

In my humble opinion the two best teams in the state faced off in two hard fought contest. The young men on both sides of the field need to be congradulated for an outstanding effort and year!!!!!!

East Coweta should have easily won game 1, leaving a pitcher in that gives up 10 runs in 5th and 6th innings when you have a lead made no sense what so ever

naw but did see a player toss his helmet, throw his bat and punch the wall when he knew the game was over.


and many parents were guessing among their friends how fast the pitchers were throwing,
They got reponses like not very fast, oK, alright, not as fast as you think from one with a radar gun.

I am sure some dad will be telling his friends they all were throwing 90 plus

I think the best team in Georgia this year was Columbus. The national polls agree. Milton is a very good team with two outstanding prospects and several other good bats, but I don't see Milton having the pitching to match up with Sebastian and Rulon.

JMHO--we'll never really know.

I was actually refering to 5A. I have not seen Columbus but, understand that they are very good. However, I am not certain that you have seen Milton towards the end of the season. I beleive that if you did you would say that we have a little more than two hitters. Apparently you are not aware that one of our pitchers threw two 1 hitters and 1 no hitter in the state playoffs.

Since you mention it, I would love to see a game between these two. I guess we will never know and just have to belive BA. Anyway summer ball is here and HS is over.

Saw your summer team during the Parkview shootout. Looks like you have two more outstanding prospects. I understand one is Fowler's younger brother. The other one I really liked was the Catcher who was hitting clean up. Do you know who he is? The boy can really mash.

Fowler does not have a younger brother on the team but there are several good juniors returning - 4 of which are playing with ECB teams this summer. The team next year should be very good.

There were some very good hitters sitting on the bench this year.

The catcher you are referring to should get a lot of looks if he works out and gets stronger in the upper body. He is a big kid but has not matured physically yet.
