Just an announcement from a proud mama:
The GA Knights out of West Cobb plowed their way through teams from Canada, Indiana, Michigan, Tennesee, Ohio and our own backyard (the 16U ECB Titans) to take on the Franklin Outlaws in the Sandlott Wood Bat World Series in Nashville over the July 4th week/end. Eight very exciting games, most won by a run or two in the final inning by the Knights.

The semi-final game against the Titans was a 1-0 win for us, thanks to flawless defense and a near perfect game by pitcher Sam Agnew-Weiland. The championship was no less exciting--but unfortunately resulted in a one run win for the Franklin Outlaws despite the Knights coming up with 8 hits. Great comeback plays by those Outlaws who stole the 1st place trophy from us.

That's baseball! We had a great time and saw some excellent ball by our players.

Sounds like a great tournament and game quill! Was this a 18U or 16U tourney?

YGD, this was a 16U series. Single elimination after the first three games. Every game a nail biter! The parents were considering asking that the snack bars carry nitroglycerin for our poor racing hearts.

I'd have to look back at my books, but I believe the Knights had maybe two errors in eight games. Defense really was key to this series.
