SSU's Head Baseball Coach was recently fired and the baseball program is currently in disarray. What a mess!!!! The announcement for a new coach just went out. Hopefully, the program will be back on its feet shortly. The baseball team is usually made up of a little less than 1/3 Black, a little more than 1/3 White and 1/3 Hispanic. Rarely are full scholarships given with the exception of pitchers. Visit the campus, view the baseball field, talk to the AD. Then make your decision.

catfish thanks for the info. no one really gives full rides in baseball, i mean with only 11.7 fulls to spread around 30 kids or so. Does the program really have a chance to good though?

Finish They have players from different states, a lot from Florida, Juco kids and H.S. They play against good competition, I think the program may get better, with a new good coach, if you have the chance to go there, take advantage of the opportunity and do your best, a lot of pro-scouts exposure, and D1 baseball, what else you need to know? Good luck.

Three or four years ago Savannah State was close to leading the nation in wins. They have followed that up with some very respectable seasons but the season I'm talking about was great.

Believe it or not SSU has the longest winning record in NCAA history. They are a DI school without a conference. However, they do play very good teams. Lets face it, there isn't really a bad team in any college in South Georgia or Florida. Even the NAIA school down the road from SSU, the Savannah College of Art & Design sent two kids to pro ball last year.
