My son's team is opening their HS season today against McIntosh HS. It got me to thinking about Tim Battle, who went to HS there and signed with the Yankees.

Y'all probably know that Tim was diagnosed with Cancer and had to stop playing while he underwent treatment last year. I had read a while ago that the cancer was in remission and he was expected to be back in Spring Training in the Yankee's system this Spring, which was great news.

Has anyone heard how he is doing lately and if he is back on the field?

I am sorry, I did not know that Tim was diagnosed with Cancer...What type?

I help coach a PG Team in the WWBA that Tim played for. Lot of talent there.

I sincerely hope to hear good things about him.

Al:

I don't remember what type. It received some publicity locally, but also received national attention when George Steinbrenner invited Tim to join him in his box-I believe it was during the World Series.

He is definately a very talented athlete and player.
