All of this rain and cold is definitely putting a hamper on the practice that should be taking place here in N. GA. I know that some high schools haven't practiced in almost a week due to all this precip. Hopefully this will not continue too much longer. WE NEED BASEBALL. Anyways, what are some opinions on the top teams in AAAAA and some top players in the state? Who will contend for playoff spots this year? Who's got the hitting and who's got the pitching?

I think it is a travesty and dangerous for young men to have only 2 weeks of organized conditioning (thats if the weather is good) prior to playing. GHSA needs to understand that is simply not enough time. Give the schools another week and a half to two weeks. For some reason, the people in charge think that these kids are 6 and that baseball is like golf. I am really interested in seeing: How Roswell does this year. Excellent new coach and a great pitching staff. If S. Gwinnett can repeat a somewhat unexpected run. Sleeper may be Kell.

Well, an additional two weeks may cause more rain to move in. I know that the middle of March is always rainy. On the other side, players could risk hurting their arms, because they aren't conditioned and ready to get out there full speed. Kell has an excellent pitching staff this year, with Ladd, Gilbert, Fuller as the main 3. Roswell should be good, if they can overcome the adversity of the new coach. I also think it will be interesting to see how Lassiter does this year, seeing that they have players pitching who have never done so before!
