After seeing the post on Smoker, I am wondering if what I hear about the Sandy Creek pitchers is true. According to several sources they have 4 who are/can hit 90 and all but one are juniors. Can anyone confirm?

I'm not sure, but kind of doubt that it is true.

These aren't the dads. I understand it's what a coach is reporting. Son used to attend the school, and while I'll believe they are mid to upper 80s, all at 90, wow.

well after seeing the Number 1 ranked team in that conference and seeing one fastball at 82 mph, I severely doubt it.

List the names of these supposely 90 mph pitchers

Other than the report that supposedly from the coach to other parents, without kids on the team, I have no other info. As I said, son used to be a member of the team so I keep up with the team and friends.

Who did you find other than Jaracz, who went to a PG event a few years back? I know Midkiff, Brewer, and Bowen have never attended a PG event. Midkiff was scheduled twice but never attended. I have little doubt that these guys can throw 85 - 88 just trying to verify that they made that extra leep.

Oh, they also have Brandon Swann who used to throw harder than the rest but is out with an injury.

Swann the fastest he been clocked at was 86 mph at perfect game underclassman southeast fall 2005. Was 82-84 mph at area code games trials in June 2006.

Saw Sandy Creek last year no one cracked 82 mph the game I saw.

Jaracz threw 79 and 81 mph at PG showcases a few years back.

I heard a report that Pamela Anderson is gonna take me to dinner tonight too.

According to a PGCrosschecker.com search… In addition to Swann and Jaracz…

Midkiff pitched in the 2006 PG WWBA 18U Tournament last year.

Brewer pitched in the WWBA 15U tournament in 2005. Topped at 83 at that time.

There is no reason to doubt that 85-88 number with these kids. We will probably see a couple of them somewhere this summer.

I didn’t find any information on either Nate Bowen or Pamela Anderson in our database.

Having coached a couple of the kids and been around them for a couple of years, I'd say they are about the same. Each has his own unique challenges, but each has a decent upside. Last season, Midkiff and Bowen were throwing harder than anyone else, but Bowen is subject to arm issues with his unorthodox pitching motion and over use of a slider. Brewer is inconsistent but throws hard and has a wicked slider. As for Robert, he’s solid but I’ve never seen him produce at the level his supposed to be able to. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to go to the plate against any of them and not expect to be challenged
