There is a new high school in the Henry County area, I believe the name is Ola High School. Any news on how they are doing?

I think this should be Luella instead of Ola. Confused

My sons team played them earlier and beat them pretty easily. They are a very young team, I don't think they have any seniors. They have a great, new facility. I have not heard any updates since he played them, but I don't imagine that they are winning many games with such a young team.

Ola High School will be open in 2 or 3 years. It will be the 6th high school to open in Henry County.

(Henry County, Stockbridge, Eagle's Landing, Union Grove, Luella, Dutchtown opens next year, and Ola)

Luella drew the majority of their players from Henry County with a few of Eagle's Landing scattered in. They are actually doing pretty good in their region and wouldn't be a surprise to anyone if they made the state playoffs.

They do not have any seniors but will be fine under Coach Cooper and should be a tough team to reckon with next year in AAAA.

Warhawk: Thanks for the reply. I have a nephew who is playing for Luella. It's hard to keep up with him from Tennessee. Everyone is always at the ball field. Big Grin I talk to my sister once a week, but I thought I might get more updates here. Thanks.

my pleasure.

I saw in the local rag today that Luella knocked off Spalding County yesterday 7-4. They are 4-1 in that region and very much in contention for a high seed in the playoffs.

Talked with their coach the other night and was very humble. Couple of kids stayed with HC and you guys or they could have been really tough. Sounds like you had some fun in the mud the last couple. Good Luck to the Landing the rest of the year.

I am glad to see they are having a better year than I thought they would. My son's team is much better than everyone thought (Northgate) and did use a lot of JV players against Luella. The NG Vikings are coming on real strong at 16-1 and just beat Alexander. Northgate went undefeated in their first run through the region.

Players Dad, As far as following Luella, they get coverage in the Henry County paper and it has a web version. Good luck following themm.
