Nextlevel,

You are correct about Grimes he was VERY good last year. The others I don't know but Grimes was on Jr. Team Georgia last summer and did well.

Another kid from that team will do very well also, Kent Emanuel from Woodstock HS.

Cam was listed as second team All-State for AAAAA as a pitcher. All of the first team pitchers for AAAAA are seniors. When I get a chance I'll list the juniors on second team and honorable mention.

I'm not sure how they put this list together. I know they send a survey out to coaches but I don't know if they just enlist information about the coaches own schools or if they also collect information on who the coaches feel should be on the list from other schools as well.

It is only in the Dugout Club preseason magazine. Or you can go to www.gavsv.com go to the forums list, then scroll down to the baseball pages. I know that the AAAAA and AAAA teams are listed on their pages.

While this page has some of the best 2010's mentioned, there are several of the best in Georgia not listed. Among those that are missing are several African American players in that class that could become good draft picks and highest level college recruits.

2010 is another great class in Georgia.

Hey,PGStaff(old timer) why do you have to make it a racial thing, there are many in Georgia deserving of this and they are American Americans (all of them)

EastsideEagles, we used to live in Covington! We moved to FL in 2004, right after 2B played with Newton Nationals at state. I have lots of good memories from games out at City Pond Park. Smile

I don't think PGStaff is making it a racial thing. Just pointing out a byproduct of how things sometimes happen, in my opinion. Several very good players sometimes don't get the recognition they may deserve, African American or not, for several reasons.

This isn't the same thing as arguing against the preseason all-state list or saying the list of pre-season players aren't deserving. They are. Many of them had great seasons last year and a lot of them played for teams that are traditional powerhouses or went a few rounds into the playoffs.

But the preseaon list was just a portion of this. It would be great for all of the talented 2010 players to be named so we can be on the lookout for some of the talent that is out there.

PGStaff - can you name some of the players?
