I am tired of seeing the Georgia forum blank. My topic of discussion is: Which teams do you think will be the best in each classification in Georgia. I don't know much about 5A, but I do have a bit of interest in 4A. I think that Alexander and Chapel Hill will be tough to beat. How about other schools????

AAAAA:

Milton has alot coming back. Never pitched their RF who is a stud on the mound as well as the OF.

Parkview is always loaded. Lost their best pitcher to graduation but had alot of talent in the classes below.

Roswell has a top pitcher in Quigs and another D1 player to boot.

Starrs Mill loaded with pitching, 2 D1's plus at least 4-5 Juco or DII to go along with that. Could go really far.

EC has potential to mash but pitching is the big question. Could make a good run.

Lowndes was really young and played really well. Should shine in the south.

Tell Joel to have a big season.

Back to AAAA:

I think Heritage, Cross Creek, McIntosh, Greenbrier, and Loganville will all field strong teams this year.

Thanks for giving Joel the support. Same back to Eric. Joel and all of the other returners will have to have an even better year than last yeat if NG is to come close to their record last year. NG opens with games against Columbus, Marist, EC, FC, Jonesboro and Morrow before the region begins. NG will find out how good they have to be real soon.

Who do you expect to be the EC pitching rotation? I hope that you, yours and EC have a bang up year.

Behenna and after that I don't have a clue. No seniors that I know of and some boys are going to have to step up or EC will all need to hit above .700 clip to win those 28-27 games. Smile

Other than Seeton, who do you guys have pitching? I know you guys are young but I think you have a good program established and will hang oin your region but WOW, what a start! I like starting off with tough teams if you really don't know what you have. Good luck to NG this year.

The only one for certain is Will Smith. He was a freshman last year and pitched quite a lot on Varsity. He is a 6' 4" lefty. Huge upside to him. I think Chad Basma, a junior, would be next in line. After that not a lot of pitcher only types. Seeton is tough as nails and will need to pitch a lot of innings this year.

FS:

Happy New Year to you and the family also. Corey has really been working hard. I think it will pay off this Spring.

I hope Eric has a great Senior season. Hard to believe these boys have gotten this old while we haven't aged a bit.

That is so true. Tell him to change speed and hit his spots and everything else will fall in place. Hope Heritage has a great season also.

EC has 3 Soph. pitchers with a lot of potential. If Deloach lets them get some varsity time, they will be special by the end of the year and give him 2 more years afer that of being the BIG DOG team to beat for years to come. I heard we lost the most raw tallented player in Georgia because of grades. Students just don't understand how important the grades are. He may have cost himself a half of million bucks because no one will have heard of him until his senior year, (2006). A 6.4 guy in the 60. SAD!

I heard about X man the other day. I also heard that Deloach was fit to be tied about several of the upperclassmen and their off field activities too. We will be pulling for EC except, for when they play NG this year.

I would have loved to have seen those teams play last year. I think that this year could be very difficult for both.

AAAAA:
We play Henry County last year in the playoffs- they lost Rozier and Laird, but they had (have) Greg Lindsey and a kid (soph. now) that dropped a bomb on us he was also throwing low 80's last year from the port side- They will give everyone a run- But i think its up in the air- with a few breaks, almost anyone can make a good run

Henry County also has Matt Clark this year, after a year at Riverside. He is a lefty that throws upper 80s. I agree, they will be very tough.

I agree 33. It would have been fun watching those 2 teams. Just think if they were combined up and played in AAAAA. Wow!

How is your son doing?

EC may end up being the victim of its own success. I do not see much of any senior leadership and I cannot emphasize how important that was to the success of the past two seasons. Stupid off field incidents and now poor grades have many concerned. Well at least Tulane is ranked #1. Smile

Slim, i appreciate you asking about Joel. He is doing good and has the opportunity to really stand out this year.

It is good to see Tulane ranked number 1. They have shown interest in #33. He has received several letters from top D1 schools, I just hope he will take advantage of it over the next several months. He has been pretty diligent with his hitting and catching lessons. How are things going in New Orleans? Again, thanks for asking.

What is a bit difficult to underestand is why is there not a team on the south side that would take advantage of all of the great ball played down here and go up and show the northside how ball is played down here. A team of all Coweta County players could compete anywhere. Maybe I am a bit biased, but I think there is good ball played down here. Even if this year seems a little down I think a 17 and under team would excell on the summer circuit.

again thanks for asking, I can't wait for the season to begin. I hope that EC, Newnan and NG all have outstanding years.

Concerning Henry Co. Matt Clark throws a good ball but if he cannot throw his curve for strikes his fastball is meat. I haven't seen him in awhile and he really needs a change up to keep the pressure off his curveball location. If he does that he will be a GREAT pitcher. He is a great kid and if he gets the right instruction he will have the ability to dominate.
