Back to the topic of a recruited walk on. Most guys that are looking to try this recruiting walk on idea, have legitimate offers at lower levels of competition (DII, DIII, JuCo. At an Ivy or Patriot league type school (non-scholarship), how realistic is it for someone to walk on, and then actually contribute at some point in their career. Also, in speaking with coaches, I've been told about full walk on tryouts where the player will stay for all 5 weeks of fall practice and then a decision is made. How often do these situations occur?
