thanks Bob and to everyone else for all the great tips and advise. I'm very thankful I found this site just prior to our youngest son starting his senior year. Only wish it had been around when #1 son was trying to advance. I've learned alot. Best wishes to you.

Bob:

I have been visiting your great site for over 5 years. You built it and they came! I can only imagine the hard work and thankless, long hours it took to continuously serve so many, so well and truly regret that you’ve seen and heard enough.

In my opinion, the only positive thing that will result from this is that Teacherman won’t be able to say an unkind or untrue word to anyone here anymore.

Best wishes to you in your future endeavors and thanks again for your great contribution!

THop (and everyone at Baseball-Excellence).

The more I read -- especially the note from Bob's son -- the more I wish this were not happening, regardless of what path this takes. Without Bob, it will not be the same. An era is coming to an end and it is not an occasion for celebration.

Thanks, Bob, for a great ride that is ending far, far too soon. You are one of the best and for the ages.

I was off today and had time to reflect on the news that Bob will soon pull the plug on the website. Bob is a good friend and I respect his decision. I can only guess how difficult a decision it was for him, knowing how the sites closure felt to me, I’m sure it was tenfold for him.

I don’t want to name everyone because I may miss someone, but it is amazing the friendships we have developed over the years. These friendships cross many boundaries and countless miles, but it does not diminish the value. We have shared the good and the bad; helped our sons through injuries and were there no matter any outcome. Can I put a value on these last few years? I think not.

The knowledge from the information Bob shared with all us and that gained from other individuals has helped more than will ever really be known. We all hope to make a difference in our life and Bob has his accomplished with this site over the past years. Bob, THANK YOU!

To my good friends in the Tennessee forum (and that one Bama); we’ve had that place humming more than a few times. Is there anything we didn’t cover when it came to baseball in our state? There couldn’t have been much! We had a special first round draft pick and many championship teams with parents drop by the site. Ray-Bans was born, TN-Scout-For Real started the hunt for instate talent, The Recruitinator is know far and wide, Bubba is in a class all his own and HiwasseeVol keeps the Big Orange in check.. We have started more than a few days with a laugh after checking in the forum. Best of all we have gotten to follow our sons on their path and it’s much better not to do it alone. It just doesn’t get any better that what we have had in our forum. For that, I THANK YOU ALL!

I also want to thank the Ladies. Bob gave them a special place and they are quite a group and a great addition here. Jolly, I remember one that gave you a run for your money!

There are many with more baseball knowledge than me that have stayed and offered advice to the greenhorns that turned up every year. You are the special ones here. THANK YOU ALL!

I have many email addresses and will stay in touch. For any that might not have mine, it is HiwasseeVol@comcast.net I still want to follow each and very son, don’t leave me out of the loop.

THANKS TO ALL....

Wow..I go away for awhile and look what happens. Bob, you created an incredible cyber community. I think back to when my sons were in HS and going thru the college selection process. I can't imagine getting thru it without the love and support of everyone here. I made so many new friends and I enjoyed all the intense discussions about everything from baseball to relationships. I will miss Bubba and all his good 'ol boys, the Ladies Lounge Crew and of course all the Yankee Haters.

You and the HS Baseball web changed lives, this is something you should be very proud of.

Love and Blessings

Found this site in spring of 2001 when (04)son was a HS Freshman. This site has guided us through showcases, baseball camps, select tryouts, recruiting, signing a JC NLI, transferring, college summer leagues and in the spring of 06 a chance to play big time DI baseball here in the Lone Star State of Texas. All of those emotional roller coasters were made smoother through the information and help of this site.

I have also been blessed with meeting you Bob at the World Wood Bat tournament at Jupiter Fl in the fall of 2003 at the back stop on one of the back fields along with Bighit. It was indeed a plesaure to meet the man that made this site possible. Good luck in your future endeavers.

I have not yet heard an update on Bob's plans for this great website, but I do know that several fine members have offered some good options, so hopefully this site will continue.

However, I wanted to post an easy to remember address where I will provide any updates I'm able to find out about, if this site does go down. Instead of www.hsbaseballweb.com you can type the slightly shorter www.hsbbweb.com .

No one could ever replace the wonderful site and forums created here by Bob Howdeshell. His unselfish work and his benevolent nature have provided priceless benefits to many parents and their players seeking to get to "the next level". This alternate site is not intended as a replacement, but simply a temporary informational forum. If hsbaseballweb.com does shut down, I will try to post updates at www.hsbbweb.com about where you can find a site or forum which has received Bob's blessing to continue the good work he carried on for seven years.

Bob, many heartfelt thanks from Henderson, Nevada.

We are like so many others - whose lives you have directly influenced - we say thank you for what you have provided for us. I can't say we would have been lost, but I cannot imagine where our son would be today without what I learned here on the HSBBW.

The Herrera family.

It's about time

Bob, as you know I’ve been watching your website for quite some time now with “cautious optimism” and I think you are handling the shutdown situation in an unselfish manner that’s really best for the common good.

As you surely are aware I’ve been busy tinkering with interest rates, fooling with the trade deficit thingy, and trying to boost sluggish consumer spending to give manufacturing that KICK to really get this economy going.

Your shutdown should be just “what the doctor ordered”, as I read with amusement, well actually, LMAO when I hear your folks say they log on during lunch

HAAA!!!

Look, I’ve got literally a room full of ISP records, wiretaps (shhh), and other files on HSWEB activity that show otherwise – the members are killing productivity and stagnating the economy in every state except
W Tennessee (the Chinese are scared to death of Hounds)

Anyway, the Nation’s thanks for your thoughtful decision. With that I will close as I’m on my way to a meeting – Memorial Day weekend is here ya know and we’ll decide how much to gouge/ uhhh, I mean adjust the price of gas this afternoon

Good day,

A. Greenspan

Ps – my grandson is a 5'10" 13 yo rhp throwing high 70’s fb, w/cb & ch, will he get looks?
