How bout it guys, anyone happen to catch Dice-K pitch against the Jays last night?

This was the first time for me to see him in the majors, I saw him play in the WBC and a few Japanese games. I caught the game from the 4th on and from what I saw from him, he looks to be a good pitcher, worth over a $100 mil, time will tell.

Anybody else have any thoughts on the subject?

Yes I saw that game and he is a good pitcher but the Gyro is a myth. He has good off speeds but I think Boston got snooked. Lost 2-1 but it was a good game.

I agree, Boston got the wool pulled over them, must be nice to have Scott Boras as your agent, that contract he got was ludacris, the added perks he swinged in that contract, remarkable, absolutely remarkable.

Yeah the Gyro and the Shutto are big time myths, even some Japanese players will tell you that it's just a myth, or at least that's what I read on an article about those pitches.

i thought the guy pitched well in all his outings. no run support was the biggest problem.i guess i expected more from a hundred million dollar man. as far as getting snooked? i can't believe any of the make the money they do, but who knows.
sorry to sneak in north of the border i hope you don't mind?

20dad,

You're more then welcome to sneak on up north of the border, as you can tell it's a little dry up here, not much conversation.

I think a lot of people are going to/were expecting more from the 100 mil man.

He's going to have a good career over here, but one has to wonder how he will adjust when the league figures him out.

His numbers are very good. 2.7 ERA 24K, 5 BB in 20 IP. Keep that up and he makes the All Star team this year. Pitchers can adjust also. He is a solid frontline guy. The Red Sox payed market rate for a good #2, imo.
