Hi All:

Outside of the Team Ontario - Hamilton Thunderbird ish private teams, can anyone offer insight into how kids can get exposed here in Canada to college recruiters from the States?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

There are several great teams other than the ones you mentioned. Niagara Rebels hold several MLB camps and college showcases. They have the majority of the showcases due to the facilities. You do not have to play for them to go to the showcases. Posted on website.A lot of teams go to Florida in the spring Oakville Royals , Toronto Hawks ,Ontario Blue Jays. You have to also be carefull because these teams usually have a few team they place players with and they may not be what you are looking for.
Thyere are several more teams than what I have mentioned but I am not as familiar with what they do for exposure. Most have websites and post their schedules. Several are run by ML scouts.

You can attend showcases in MI and OH and you can also just send schools that you are interested in your info and a highlight film.

thanks very much for your input. i am about to ask a stupid question but how does a person get forwarded to these showcases? Another stupid question, are these showcases open to individuals or are they open to teams only. Again, any help would be tremendously appreciated.

You can try this one in MI, I have attended it to recruit and there have been the occational CDN there. You can also try attending College showcases depending if your a JR or SR in school. Let me know if you need any more info or if I can help in anyway.

Based on what we do lets see if this helps you:

How do you get invited ?--we use a nomination form as one method. We also get recommendations from former particpants and coaches

Are they for individuals or teams? Both--we run two for indivisuals and also have a 14 team showcase tournament.

As for Canadaian players we havea a number with us every year. In fact we had three on our team that went to Jupiter this Fall. So the door is there is one makes the effort

I hope that this helps you
