Ok hopefully this will get some convo going whilst I'm gone...

Your thoughts on Team Canada's roster for the 06 World Baseball Classic?

I think we'll surprise alot of people with our team. Our starting pitching looks good along with out OF and out Corner IF.

I'm a little worried about our MIF and C spots though and out Relief core.

Yes not having Walker will hurt, but him on the bench with his knowledge of the game will help our young guys forsure, and Ernie Whitt, WOW can't say enough about the guy, I love him.

But anyway how about your thoughts, maybe even your thoughts about the whole WBC itself and your thoughts on should this of been something thats been a long time comming??

Let's hear somethoughts people....

I think the lineup is pretty solid. These guys are by no means scrubs. With a good pitching performance this team can take on anyone on any given day. Given the nature of the tournament, the chemistry on the team and the desire...I think it will make for a very successful event for Canada.

Where is he from ?

Team Canada is having problems getting all the pitchers they need. Some will not be available.

Should be weak on the pitching side.

To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children; to earn the approbation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to give of one's self; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived-- this is to have succeeded.

Only through experience of trial and suffering

Man I should be making more money than ARod. Man I went through a craphole childhood plus a craphole baseball childhood and learned how to play by maybe one or two coaches I had plus reading up about baserunning/hitting/fielding, and pitching to learn how to read pitcher's tendencies. Do you think that learning the hard way pays off more than the easier way? And I'm not just talking about money here!

Mr 3000,
The one word you forgot to highlight was character..By experiencing difficulties you gain insight and appreciate what you have achieved and it is precious vs having a so called "easy life"...this may not be exhibited in baseball but in other areas of your life. Remember...baseball is a very small part of the person you are and will become.

True, but it's hard to build character when it was nearly ripped apart when I was growing up...rebuilding that in itself to a half-decent level of functioning hasn't been easy so far. I just don't understand why everyone tries to shield me from the bad things in life like drugs or premarital *** (or according to my mom-Paxil-which she doesn't approve of). I always thought that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.....I don't get it.
