If you are targeting elite players 18u your best bet is the Premier Baseball League of Ontario. Go to their web site. http://www.pblo.ca/

It's rather dormant at this time of year. The season runs from Early May until the end of June, at which time these teams travel to participate in tournaments in the US.

However, if you go to the PBLO site you will find links to individual teams web sites. Some of these teams already have posted their rosters.

What state are you recruiting from?

I have just began working with a small DII college in New Jersey. I also coach a couple 18U teams. I can kill two birds with 1 stone. The youth players are always looking for tournaments throughout the US and I would like to make a trip to Canada with a stop at Cooperstown for them. I am EXTREMELY unfamiliar with the Canadian baseball (however I hear there is talent) and appreciate the help. This year will definitely be about learning.

Lefty is right.
The best teams are the elite teams. HS is not like in the US because they don't have a very long season and rarely have web sites.
Most of the teams in PBLO are heavily recruited. Also there are a couple of teams in another league that have some good players like Bullit Proof Prospects run by Scott Bullit a former pro players.
The PBLO expanded a couple years ago and some of the teams that were not invited still have some good players.
I would also recommend the Niagara Rebels who play in the PBLO. They have great facilities and put on some excellent tournaments.

Here is a link to Bullit Proof.

There was a New Jersey JC coach who recruited heavily from the Rebels tournaments. He spent several weeks there looking at players from the surrounding area.

Thanks for your help guys/gals! It really is a different way of going about things in Canada. I'm questioning if venturing there would be getting in over my head. Not sure if "Elite" is a good idea for my team and the program.

Elite is just a term for guys willing to pay for better coaching and US travel ball.
Some very good ball players in the Toronto area and not all of them get recruited.
Over the years my son played there were lots of US teams from all over that came to their Tournaments. In fact they used to host the NABF WWS. Teams from all over the US as far away as Cal came to play. Lots of HS teams came to play as well.
There are almost 800 Canadians playing US college ball.
There are some teams that are not as good as others so the coaches may recommend certain teams. You may not want to play the OBJ, Canadian Thunderbirds or Intercounty Terriers but there are teams that will give you a good game.

Thank you again. At the very least, I am thinking the trip to Canada is at least a year away for my guys. I can tell I have a lot to learn. I may have to pick a long weekend and see a tournament for myself first.

Jersey Coach there is a very talented 17u team headed to Mansfied PA in July, this team won the Canadian Championship 2 years ago, they also play in Buffalo from time to time, but are out of Hamilton, they have some studs but the kids a juco types so the don't mesh well with the PBLO. Two of the kids were selected for the Minzuno Cup for the top 50 1991's

If you are interested we are running a tournament in Welland on July 10-13. We have 16u and 18u divisions, 4 games guaranteed, baseballs supplied. Great fields, half hour over the border from Buffalo.

Do not forget about the province of Quebec... it is right next to Ontario and there are a lot of talented players there. Every summer they play in the final (always Ontario Vs Quebec) of the U21 Canadian Championship. The main leauge is the LBEQ (18-22yrs) we have a lot of guys who already play in the USA.

If you want any information PM me!

Good night!
