Tennessee Wesleyan edged out Milligan for the regular season crown, as teams battled the weather this weekend. TWC swept Brevard in a 3 game series to claim the crown.
Milligan lost to Union Ky Friday by a 4-2 score making it necessary for Milligan to win one game Saturday to claim at least a 2nd place finish. Because of weather, Milligan and Union played one 9-inning game. Milligan prevailed 3-2 on a cold, drizzly afternoon, just beating sunset.
TWC and Milligan receive automatic berths in the NAIA Region XII tournament week after next. King and Union tied for third, followed by Montreat and Brevard. Other schools, in approximate order of finish are Virgia-Wise, Bluefield, Alice Lloyd, Virginia-Intermont, and Bryan.
