The coaching staff at Memphis is very good. Daren Shoenrock is as good as they get and he has a good staff. I recommend them highly. Look for them to be more competitive this year and within two years they will be even better.

I don't know much about Arkansas State.

I agree with Bama...Coach Rock (Memphis) is as good a guy as you would want your son playing for and he has a very good knowledge base as well! I have a former SS playing up there now.

Don't know a lot about Arkansas St.

BDT:

The Tribe has 32 players on the team this fall including 15 returning players from last year’s 33-23 team. The 33 victories were tied for the fourth most wins in a single season in ASU history as the Tribe won four Sun Belt Conference series for the first time since 1998. They were 12-12 in the Sun Belt Conference last year and finished the regular season in 6th place. They seem to be getting better each year under Head coach Keith Kessinger. I think he used to be at ole miss as an assitant coach.

He is the son of former big leaguer Don Kessinger who played for the Chicago Cubs. His pitching coach came from a very good program at Delta State University in Mississippi.

They seem to have a solid defense and offense each year but until last year they were not very deep in pitching.

I have watched or listened to them play against Middle Tennessee for the last four years and last year was one of the best they have had. I don't know how many key players they lost but every team has to reload and try again!

One of Kessinger's assistants, Brad Henderson, was my son's summer coach until he left in late June to join Kessinger at ASU.

He seemed to be a good guy.

Our son was recruited heavily by Coach Kessinger and ASU. All three coaches are good baseball people but more importantly to us are great individuals. Hardest part about accepting an offer from a bigger school was saying no thanks to ASU. Would recommend they get serious consideration.

ASU was very competitive at home against a good Cajun team last year. I think they knocked Jr. around for 3 or 4 runs on a Sunday afternoon.
