Who are the better (private) pitching coaches in West Tennessee? Not someone that charges $20 to $40 to watch you son for a hour. Someone who Can teach mech. and how to prepair for the game.

I would recommend two:

Charlie Lea & Tony Phillips

Both are very good instructors. Call Gameday Sports Academy at 901-758-2343 and they will tell you how to contact them.

Can't say enough good things about Charlie Lea. He started working with my son starting at age 9. Not only does he have a very impressive resume but is also the father of two college pitchers.

Is there not a decent pitching coach around the Jackson area? Maybe around Union City or Dyersburg.

Been checking in on the pitching instructor and in Union City Joe Graves has a building to help on hitting and pitching. I don't have that phone number. There is one in Huntingdon called K's & W's ( 731-234-7001 ) (Keith White ) is the owner. His son pitched at USJ on there state championship team and got a offer over in ArKansas to pitch. I believe Keith White does the rubber band work out for the pitchers.

hboys_dad,
Being the father of a baseball player isn't much of a qualification. (I can say that since I'm the father of a baseball player.) I think it only qualifies me as a father and a fan! Smile
If you're looking for the coach that taught the pitchers at University School of Jackson, his name is Coach Jimmy Carey and he can be found at Advantege Sports in Jackson. Not only is Coach Carey a good coach but is also a good person.
Best of Luck,
Fungo
