Cale stopped by my house over the winter break, twice to leave me a "Drano Bomb"! He is really a great kid and has put on some muscle since high school.
I could never understand why so many high school players in our district seemed to go out of their way to be negative about his play when I spoke with them.
My sons broken 1B mitt was a good indication of his arm strenght.
"If you make every game a life and death proposition, you're going to have problems. For one thing, you'll be dead a lot."
I agree about the criticism, but consider the source. A lot of it was trash talk in a forum where a lot of high school players (and some parents) used their anonymity in a decidedly negative fashion.
Cale's getting the last laugh. He was big enough to stay out of the fray.
HV, what's in the Beaver Creek water? Things always seemed a bit nastier in your district. At least until the district tournaments. I remember some choice words being thrown at other high profile players in the District 4AAA tournament.
Chris is sharing time with two juniors behind the plate, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him get in the mix if he swings the bat like he's capable.
Ad, I may make a point to come back to the district 4 tourney this year and remind some folks of things they said. I was having dinner with Adam and a couple of his teammates last night and that very subject came up.
Comming home from Deer hunting last night in Milport Alabama I read the Tuscaloosa paper and the coaches said he would be starting so congrats to Cale. Did not mention Kirkland but they got a juco transfer starting at Catcher can not remember his name.
