Cody was quoted in the KNS article as: Tennessee hadn't offered yet, but were evaluating. Arkansas' definitive (and I assume substantial)offer made an impression on him. He also sees a fit for early playing time. quote: "They were one of the first to offer," said Hawn, a two-time PrepXtra first-team member. "Just sitting down thinking, I knew nothing was going to beat (their offer).
"I got what I wanted: to be able to have a chance to play my freshman year. It was a good fit for me."
Hawn said Tennessee was "on the verge of offering," but that Arkansas got there first, adding that Kentucky, Virginia, Tulane, Middle Tennessee State and Memphis also showed interest.
Sometimes the early bird gets the worm. I know in our personal case that the schools who jumped in line early made a positive impression. |
