At long last, I had the privilege of meeting TennDad last Saturday and the entire TennDad family. Fantastic folks! [Yes, Josh Archer is every bit as big as you've heard.]
Number 2 son, Dane, is rooming with my son, Brad, at Vol State this school year.
Of note to readers and posters on the Tennessee Message Board -- TennDad is to marry fiancee, Holly, this weekend. I think that deserves a great big HSBBweb, CONGRATULATIONS!
I'm sure TennDad will be checking the message board while on his honeymoon. Funny how wedding and honeymoon had to be scheduled between summer and fall baseball seasons.

It’s good to be back after spending 7 days on the beach down in Dauphin Island Alabama. The weather was perfect and we had a great time. Ate lots of sea food and got plenty of sun on my weathered skin.
Pamom: Yep, I have been giving her surveys for 9 years! Yes, we dated four years and were engaged another five years. The idea was to let the teenagers get out of high school before we tied the knot. Her son is 18 going to school at ITT Tech in Nashville. Josh and Dane are both in college (MTSU/Vol State) now and only leave a 16 year old daughter at home.
Hiwassee Vol: After 9 years I guess we already knew each other pretty darn well. I didn’t get on the internet one time while I was on my honeymoon. We got up at 6:30 every morning and had coffee on the deck and watched the dolphins make there morning swim by the Island before making our daily walk down the beach picking up sea shells and feeding the sea gulls. I did get to see a water funnel while I was there and thank goodness it was several miles out in the gulf headed the other direction! Had dolphins swim within feet of us and saw a sting ray. Toured the old Civil War fort on the end of Dauphin Island called Fort Gaines and went to the Sea Lab. Ate fish about every way you can possibly imagine.
TRHIT: We did have a big bottle of wine and listened to some good old music from the 60’s – 80’s. The week went by too fast and it was time to come home and beat the Hurricane that was heading toward Florida and the Gulf.
BNA: It was great to meet you and your wonderful family in person. We looked like the Clampets off the Beverly Hill Billie’s moving a kid to college. I can’t wait for the fall games to start at Vol State. Your son Brad is not very small either!
The fall roster at MTSU has Josh listed at 6’ 3” 250 lbs. and coach Pete wants him down to 225 by spring. He is doing a ton of running and has started eating grill chicken salads. Never thought I would live to see him eat salads.
Wedding: Showed up on horseback and had a small ceremony down by Kentucky Lake where we were married by a Methodist minister who was a dear friend of my late father. I was expecting about 30 people and 65 showed up. I surprised my new wife and sang ‘I Swear” by John Michael Montgomery which was our favorite when we first started dating. I bet you didn’t know I could sing! Went back to my new father in laws house and had barbecue, beans, slaw and wedding cake. Then we headed out and crossed the beautiful state of Alabama on our way to Dauphin Island. We passed the exit to Hartselle which is the home of the Bama Bomber! They have possums on the half shell in Alabama and sneaky state police in unmarked cars like a ford F150! I did the speed limit and took my time.
FrankF: I ain't that old!
Catfish: Hope you missed that bad weather from Francise! Heard there was alot of flooding in Georgia!

Glad your both back safe and sound and a "BIG" congratulations to you both.
Now everyone sing along.... I see the questions in your eyes I know what's weighing on your mind But you can be sure I know my part 'Cause I'll stand beside you through the years You'll only cry those happy tears And though I'll make mistakes I'll never break your heart
I swear By the moon and stars in the sky I'll be there I swear Like the shadow that's by your side I'll be there For better or worse Till death do us part I'll love you with every beat of my heart I swear
I'll give you everything I can I'll build your dreams with these two hands We'll hang some memories on the wall And when there's silver in your hair You won't have to ask if I still care 'Cause as time turns the page My love won't age at all
I swear By the moon and stars in the sky I'll be there I swear Like the shadow that's by your side I'll be there For better or worse Till death do us part I'll love you with every beat of my heart I swear
I swear By the moon and stars in the sky I'll be there I swear Like the shadow that's by your side I'll be there For better or worse Till death do us part I'll love you with every beat of my heart I swear I swear

Welcome back. Brad and Dane appear to be hitting it off quite well. Just checked the long range forecast and they're calling for Partly Cloudy and a gametime temperature of 82 degrees for the Vol State fall season opener vs. Cumberland University, 4 PM on Sept. 16th at Vol State.
