C-N is a private Baptist school located in Jefferson City, Tn at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. It has a beautiful campus, small and quaint. I'm not familiar with the current coach but the program has a good reputation and has been successful for a long time. Good luck!

Flabaseball, do you have any specific questions?
I am a redshirt junior catcher at Carson-Newman and would be happy to answer any questions you or your son may have.
I do not know our scholarship situation at the moment, but I'm sure our coaching staff would welcome a transfer even over Christmas break, especially if he is a pitcher, lol.

Head coach- Tom Griffin: former catcher, has a catcher's mentality, is a hard-nosed, no-nonsense, go-getter. He gets the most out his players (team won three games in one day last spring to win conference tournament championship over team that was ranked number 10 nationally at the time).
Pitching coach- Matt Ward: pitched at CN, is the best pitching coach I have personally worked with at any level. He is pretty innovative and has some pretty interesting ideas. After an arm injury he learned to throw from a lower arm angle, and works miracles for pitchers who do or may want to throw from a lower arm angle that other pitching coaches may not be able to help.
Program: won conference tournament last year and went to regional tournament. Returned C, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, and 1 starting OF. Also many non-starters that contributed heavily returning. Lost a lot of pitching, with 2 going in the MLB draft (5th and 8th round).
I would be glad to answer any other questions.
