Thank goodness, for a while I thought we might lose our Florida or California air miles. Any thoughts on the new coach?

Good luck to Coach Bell. He recruited my son very hard at FL Southern. We were extremely impressed with the job he was doing there and knew it was just a matter of a short time before he either got a great head coaching job or a high profile assistants job. He's the real deal.

We've heard nothing but good things about Coach Bell. The pitching coach position at Tennessee has lately been a springboard to other career moves.

One reason my son picked UL was that the Head Coach is also the pitching coach and less likely to move on.

Will Coach Bell be handling the recruiting?

Don't you find it odd that Delmonico can't seem to hold on to a pitching coach for more than 2 years? I think he has only had one stay longer and that was only 3 years and I know for a fact that he was ready to leave after the first year but had no place to go. I don't think it has anything to do with it being a springboard to better opportuinities, but everything to do with them wanting out of there as soon as they find out how Delomonico really is.

HiwasseeVol, I loved your fake interview with the new pitching coach. You were very accurate in some of your statements especially the head coach being a former s****r player. He thinks kids in Tennessee can't play that's why he recruits in Florida and California. If he would only realize that loyalty goes a lot farther than the amount of scholarship you give a kid. There are great players in the state that are die hard VOL fans and would give their left arm to play there for next to nothing. It's sad! He's quick to bring up Todd Helton as a Tennessee boy but he went there on a football scholarship and gave it up because he wanted to pursue his baseball career. Football recruited him and got him there, not baseball!
