From the ECU website:

quote:
Freshman Harrison Eldridge will likely start in right field with Brian Cavanaugh and Jamie Ray also battling for playing time. Eldridge, small in stature at 5'6", will replace speed at the top of the order and on the basepaths this season with the loss of Jamie Paige to graduation.

"Harrison has a lot of similarities to Jamie Paige and Ryan Jones. He should be able to help us in the lead-off spot this year," Mazey added.

Way to go Harrison. Soup, do you have your oil changed for those long drives east?

Couldn't happen to a nicer player and family.

Best of luck to Harrison this year! It certainly sounds like he has put himself in a great position for lots of playing time this season.

I got to see Mr. and Mrs. Soupkitchen at Farragut's lead-off banquet last week. He told me that Harrison would be spending time in right field. Sounded like those long trips are going to start quickly. Charleston, SC is the first of many. Come to think of it, that's probably closer than ECU! Big Grin

AdDad25....you would be correct - 5 1/2 hrs to Charleston vs. a "hard" 7 to Greenville (N.C.).
Oh well that will certainly not deter the "Eldridge Mobile" from logging many miles this year. Thanks for the good wishes folks he has worked hard and he is really happy with his decision to go to ECU.
Looks like the Class of '04 is making its mark. I have everyone's web site in my favorites to keep up this year.

Best of luck to Harrison and family. Enjoy this Spring season. It is not thr same as Farragut baseball but we all Knew it wouldn't be. College ball is great but it is hard to beat what this young men have done in highschool.

Way to go, Harrison!! And congrats to SoupKitchen and Mrs. SK!! We were able to visit some at the recent Farragut Baseball Diamond Dinner, but I didn't hear that Harrison would be starting. Figured he would play plenty, though. Ol' #12 is a tough out anywhere. SK, let me know if you need contribution to the "gas tank fund." -- From your old "Skybox Partner."
