Under NFHS rules, can a baserunner hurdle the catcher (feet or head first) to avoid a tag at the plate?

Certainly fits under the heading of "slide or avoid contact". The more techinical guys will chime in here but I have seen it several times. (successful and not...from the runners perspective)

No, going over a catcher or any other fielder is illegal.

Jumping over or hurdling a fielder is legal if the fielder is lying on the ground. Diving over the fielder is always illegal.
