Runner slides into second, F6 applies tag but gets spiked, in cloud of dust, ball is on ground. Ump calls safe. Correct?
What if....after tagging runner & getting spiked, in cloud of dust, F6 pulls hand out of mitt, leaves mitt on ground, with ball still in it. Now what's the call?

In the first case it's most likely safe as long as the spiking was legal. By that I mean, it wasn't above the knee or some other illegal slide.
In the second case, it depends on what the umpire sees. If he has the tag play done and then the fielder pulling his hand out, then it's out. If he can't tell if it is two seperate actions then he will have a safe call.
Both of these are HTBT situations.
