Incorrect. A jump turn is defined as being in contact with the rubber. He must legally disengage, that is to step off on the second base side of the rubber, with his pivot foot, in order to fake to first.

The jump turn is not a legal way to disengage, no matter where the pivot foot winds up. He still must throw to 1st. Edited to add: Oops - Jimmy beat me to it. He said it better than I did.
