My son is a soph and has a 3.6 gpa with honor courses. He has allways wanted to go to Rice and play ball. My question is this. He is a utility player on the jv team. Next year he should move up to var. Is being a ultility player bad for him. We have a new head coach and he is different than anyother we have had. My sone has allways played the outfield and recieved the outstanding outfielder for the past three years. Thank you for your response.

First...welcome to the HSBBW! Second, as for your question, being able to play more than one position well is always an asset to a team, no matter what the level. If your son can play a number of different positions well, he gives a coach a lot of options, and gives himself more chances to be in the starting lineup!

I second the welcome!

I agree with JohnLex7. See if your son can play the position(s) that he's best at this summer on his select team.
