I have written and emailed numerous college coaches over the past couple weeks. I am wondering how long coaches usually take to respond to the intro letters. I find myself anxious to check the mail each day, hoping for a response.

Now is a good time to make a few phone calls. Call the coaches and mention that you sent them an e-mail and that you want to introduce yourself.

You don't have to get into details about whether they are interested or not, just strike up a conversation about baseball. ie. I see you went 15-18 last season (or whatever their record was). Keep in mind they want to know that you have taken the time to research their program, and you are not just shooting blind.

If long distance cost too much try calling just one or two whom you are most interested in.

You would be surprised at the response you might get. It is all about establishing a line of communication and it is much better than sitting back waiting anxiously.

Good luck.

Agree with AParent.

Be proactive. If you sit and wait, nothing might happen. If you call, at least you know where you stand in some recruiters/coaches eyes.

The letters and emails I have sent were intro letters. None of the coaches have seen me play yet.

Thanks for the helpful reponses thus far.
